We open the page in a browser without accepting anything and show you what loads before the visitor makes any choice: cookies, local storage, scripts and servers of other domains, the consent banner and the links to policies.
How it works
- One visit, no clicks. A Chrome browser opens the address once, from an IP address in Romania, and presses no button.
- We wait for the page to settle. After the page loads we wait a few more seconds, because many scripts start late.
- We record what happened. The cookies and local storage keys set, the domains contacted and the estimated country of their servers, the banner shown and its buttons.
- You get findings, not verdicts. The report describes what we observed. Whether a cookie is necessary, or what the site must do, is for the site's operator to assess for their own case.
Good to know
- The result is that of a single visit: sites may show something else to other visitors, in other countries or at other times.
- The application keeps neither the values of cookies nor your IP address: the IP address is used only in memory, to limit the number of scans.
- We only scan public sites: IP addresses, local names and unusual ports are not accepted.
